David Barton - Managing Director

David was the founder member of Prosper Independent Financial Advisers Ltd. He created the business in March 2003 with a view to targeting the “over 50 “sector. His wealth of financial services experience spans over 25 years during which time he has operated within both the Banking and the Independent Financial Advice sector.

Prior to setting up Prosper IFA Ltd he was UK Director for a National IFA firm and in charge of over 150 advisers, mangers and Directors. His nine years working for the National IFA firm specialising in the retirement sector gave him a real insight into the industry and in particular what clients in retirement are looking for from their adviser.

As one of only a handful of advisers within the UK to achieve a “Distinction” within the Advanced Financial Planning Tax and Trust qualification, he uses his knowledge to help investors both private, trustees and corporate to maximise returns whilst monitoring taxation and risk profiles. In addition, David holds a specialist qualification in Long Term care which enables him to deal with the elderly that are contemplating residential or nursing care provisions.

Vincent Moran – Senior Consultant

Vince Joined the firm in 2004 having worked as an Associate Director at Chase De Vere IFA for a number of years. At Chase he established himself as one of the leading advisers within the UK specialising in the “At retirement market”.

Richard Denton – Senior Consultant

Richard joined the firm at inception in 2003. He previously worked with David Barton for a number of years at what is now AWD Chase De Vere having joined them in 1990.

Throughout the 1990’s Richard worked closely with local large employers who, at that time, were embarking on a long term redundancy/early retirement programmes. As a result he works mainly with the retired sector and provides his clients with expertise that has been amassed during a career spanning over 20 years as an IFA.

He specialises in portfolio management and estate planning. He is currently studying for a long term care qualification which will enable him to deal with clients who may be contemplating residential or nursing care provision.

Sandra Wilson – Office Manager

Sandra joined Prosper in 2004and now runs the Head Office based in Wigan. Having spent over 25 Years within the financial services sector she has a wealth of experience and ensures that the business runs efficiently in order that clients receive service excellence. She coordinates all advisory and service delivery in conjunction with the Managing Director.

Debra Blackburn – Sales Support

Having joined the company in 2004 Debra deals with all client servicing requirements. She ensures that our ongoing client review service operates efficiently in order that all clients remain fully engaged with the business.
